Background of Core Faculty

Richard Bevan is a consultant who focuses on the management of change, leadership development and organizational communication. His background includes leadership through major change and restructuring. Richard’s experience is international, including periods based in the UK and Australia as well as the US. He was formerly a director of a major consulting firm, and leader of its worldwide communication practice. At the end of 1995 he established his own Seattle-based firm, C2K Consulting. A regular speaker at seminars and conferences, Richard teaches courses in communication, leadership and change in the University of Washington MBA and Executive MBA programs. He has degrees in engineering and human resource management from Oxford University and Manchester Business School.

Chris Cardwell is an advisor to Boards, CEOs and senior executives in a wide range of organizations. His consulting emphasis is in the areas of recognition and reward strategy development, compensation system design, productivity improvement, and leadership development. Prior to forming his own consulting firm, Chris spent 12 years at Towers Perrin, one of the world's largest human resources consulting firms. He was a Principal, an active member of the compensation leadership team, and the manager of the employee pay practice for the Western Region. Throughout his consulting career, he has worked with a diverse group of organizations and industries. He is a frequent speaker to industry and professional groups, has published articles on a variety of topics and has been quoted in such notable business publications as Fortune magazine. Chris has an MBA in Finance from Pacific Lutheran University and his undergraduate degree from Western Washington University.

Rosa Hunter consults to a wide variety of organizations on leadership development -- with a special emphasis on work force diversity. She joined Bank of Boston as a commercial teller in 1968. Her unique career path included assignments in retail banking, internal auditing, commercial lending, credit administration, and Human Resources. It was during her stint as Vice President-International Credit Administration that she was selected by the Bank's Management Committee to create an EEO and Affirmative Action Department. During her tenure, the department became a nationally recognized diversity function, focusing on strategy, training, organizational interventions and the human issues of difference. She has designed and facilitated seminars and training programs for a myriad of institutions, including the International Institute of Internal Auditors and Boston University. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Management Department at Bentley College.

Jill McPherson has worked with clients to improve organizational and business process performance for more than 12 years. She delivers bottom-line value to her clients by implementing process improvements, technology innovations and facilitating strategic and tactical business planning. Jill has in-depth experience in all phases of process analysis and design, change management and implementation. Her consulting aligns work processes, human performance and organizational structures with business objectives. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a BBA in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington and Texas.

Don Summers is president of The Meridian Consulting Group, Inc. He has over 25 years of experience at the highest levels of management in both Human Resources and strategic planning. Throughout his career he has helped senior management understand the critical link between business strategy and the use of corporate resources, especially people. He specializes his consulting on strategic and transitional planning, direction setting, change management, leadership development and people systems. Before consulting he was senior vice president and manager of Human Resources at Security Pacific Bank Washington in Seattle. Don wrote the book "Personnel Management in Banking" and has published numerous articles on HR and organizational development. He currently teaches in the MBA program at Seattle University. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and a master's and doctorate from Boston University.

The Northwest Leadership Forum is presented in partnership with Seattle Pacific University. Participants may earn CEUs and up to 9 graduate credit hours upon completion of NWLF.
