Competitive markets require companies to take a bold, innovative approach in the way they motivate and manage employees. Jim was a key figure in shaping the Saturn Corporation which is renowned for the success of its collaborative corporate culture. After a long and successful career in other divisions of GM, Jim joined Saturn to help bring it on-line and to put these new labor/management partnership concepts into practice. As principal of People Systems International, he currently advises organizations on adapting "Saturn-like" strategies to their own operations.

Jim serves part time as Executive in Residence at the University of Alabama where he lectures, conducts seminars and initiates working partnerships between the university and business, industry and governmental agencies often in conjunction with his consulting work. He is an alumnus of the GMI Engineering and Management Institute and Stanford University's Executive Program.
