It takes a highly strategic thinker to direct the productivity and development of more than 200,000 employees worldwide, which is what Bill succeeded in doing as Vice President in charge of General Motors' Personnel Administration and Development Staff. He worked as an executive with General Motors for 25 years before founding his own firms which provide counsel to CEOs and other senior executives. He advises CEOs on strategic business direction with respect to human resources, and on the effectiveness of senior management in firms engaged in financing LBOs, mergers, acquisitions and recapitalizations.

Bill's articles and book reviews have appeared in more than 15 publications in the U.S. and the U.K.. He has long been active in educational affairs and has served as a trustee for numerous institutions including the University of Virginia, the Yale Library Associates, the National Urban Coalition and the National Leadership Commission on Health Care. He is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Yale University, and received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
