Human Resource professionals are now being recognized for their strategic value. They provide critical insights to managing an organization's highest cost resource, its employees. The Human Resources Network provides a select forum for HR directors to exchange information with peers and industry experts as they increasingly assume this role as strategic partners with executive management.
The Seattle-based Human Resources Network has been meeting 8 times per year since 1991. The 20+ members, who are all top HR executives in the Puget Sound Region, have developed a dynamic rapport rooted in confidentiality, and honest, supportive feedback on ideas and work-related issues. Topics covered in the past include the HR and OD Planning of the Boeing 777 Program; Self-Service HR with PeopleSoft Software; The Changing Role of HR; Work Redesign and Its Impact, in addition to member spotlights featuring HRN Members' special projects and strategies.
The three-hour, interactive sessions provide:
Exposure to outstanding speakers
Access to other professionals who understand your issues
The availability of a group for testing new ideas
A lead facilitator who serves as a sounding board
Notes are taken during the session and are transcribed for future use. Members also have access to copies of the notes through the private,
HRN Members' Area
of the Meridian website.
